Enriched Air is air with a higher oxygen content and a lower nitrogen content than the
air we breathe. The advantage of using Nitrox for recreational diving is that your body has less exposure to nitrogen
at any given depth, meaning that you can dive longer at that depth than with air before reaching no-decompression
limits. While this is half-day course is technically one of many specialty certifications, it requires no dives. The focus
of the course is on the information you need to stay safe while diving with Nitrox.
How it works:
Using the Enriched Air Diver learning materials, you
view the two chapters of the Enriched Air Diver video
study the two chapters in the manual
complete the review sections for those chapters and take a written test
participate in five confined water modules
obtain a Nitrox fill and analyze the contents of the tank
What’s included:
Classroom session, manual, certification fees.
What’s extra:
Open water dives using Nitrox.
Other info:
While there are no dives required for this certification, we encourage divers to put
their new skills to work right away. Therefore, we offer the course in both a half-day non-diving option
and one and a half day option with two dives.
